Well, Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some but not for the P/M Division 3 pennant players!! We came in with no losses, with three wins and two squares. Well done girls!!! The weather was perfect and the course was in great shape once again. Big thanks to our caddies and to Kath Chenery and Maureen Treby for organising our lovely lunch and waiting anxiously for us all to come in!! Sue Wakefield (Captain)
Friday 23 Mar: Division 3 team had a great 3/2 win over Tura at Tura.
Friday 16 Mar: PMGC team were defeated by Tathra 2/3 at Tathra. Another hard fought match with a very tense nail-biting wait for the last player to come in to decide the overall result. Our final player fought hard to be square after 17 holes. It was anyone’s match! The Tathra course was in great condition considering it was underwater just a week or so ago. [Sue Wakefield]
Friday 9 Mar. All FSC&TGA Pennant was cancelled with everyone getting 3 points. PMGC were scheduled to play Mallacoota @ Mallacoota.
Friday 24 Feb. PMGC team went down to Eden 1/4 at Eden. Hot and humid conditions made play difficult. Eden course looks the best it has in years. After so much consistent rain, the greens are running slower than they have done in the past. Best player this week was Shirley Dobson who filled in at the last minute for an injured Pat Pearson. [Sue Lacey, Caddie]
Friday 17 Feb. PMGC team went down to Tura Beach 1/3; 2 matches were halved. The rain held off (mostly) while all the matches were in progress. All scores were very close in the friendly tussle with our closest neighbours. Our team of newcomers are learning fast and show great promise for the season to come. [Sue Lacey, Caddie]
Friday 10 Feb, PMGC team went down to Bega 1.5/3.5. It was a difficult day for both teams in showery conditions on a very heavy course after consistent overnight rain.
Well, our first game of pennant this year was a good one (even though it was in the rain) and although we didn’t win all our matches they were all hard fought and almost all went to the last hole. We played Bega and congratulations to them for their win.
Welcome to our new pennant players who played for the first time on Friday. Our team this year is strong and I expect once the jitters are ironed out we will prove ourselves to be a great team!!
Thanks to Cath and Maureen for their organisation and thanks to the caterers for the lovely lunch they provided. Thanks most of all to all our caddies. They are a great asset to have and we really appreciate their support and encouragement. [Sue Wakefield, Captain]
