Pambula Merimbula Juniors play Golf Pennant Grand Final
The Pambula Merimbula Junior Golf Pennant team played in the Far South Coast District Pennant Grand Final on Sunday at the Tura Beach Country Club.
The team is a family affair with brothers Harrison and Lincoln Warne and Lachlan and Zac Considine making up two-thirds of the team. The other members are Ben Wakefield and Ebony Pointon. For many of the team members, it is their first pennant season.
Lincoln Warne captained the team against the Juniors from Mollymook . After a very tight contest, Mollymook gained the lead over the final holes, winning four matches to one. It’s a commendable result for this new team to have achieved the status of runners-up in the Far South Coast Junior Grand Final and who will be better for the experience .
Pambula Merimbula Golf Club recognises the team managers Bruce and Jenny McLaren, Club Professional Glenn Warne and the parents of the junior team members who have supported them throughout the season travelling far and wide along the south coast to play their golf matches - a great effort from a team who had fun along the way.

On Sunday 28th April the Pambula-Merimbula Junior team played against the Mollymook club in the Far South Coast District Golf Association Pennant Grand Final at Tura Beach Golf Club.
The team consisted of Lincoln Warne (captain) , Ben Wakefield , Ebony Pointon and Laclan and Zac Considine . After a very tight contest Mollymook gained the lead over the final holes , winning
4 matches to 1 , with Lachlan being our only winner . Ebony led all day only to be beaten at the 19th hole . Zac started well but struggled through the middle section to lose 4 and 3 . Lachlan played very good golf all day to finally win at the 19th . Ben was leading going through the first 9 holes 2 up but from there it was all downhill finally losing 3 and 1 . Lincoln was our final player who put up a good fight losing 3 and 2 . Harrison Warne was our other player in the squad but did not play in the final . It was a great effort by our young team who will be better for the experience . [Glenn Warne, JPO]

Today we were off to Tathra to do battle with the undefeated Tura team.
I am proud to say that we drew with them today. Sharon squared; Robyn and Shrley narrowly lost; and Lynda and Bar both won their matches.
Our goal today was to get enough points to finish outright second in front of Bega and we have done this.
I would personally like to thank Lynne Bothamley, the Match Committee, all the players and caddies of Division 3 for making my job as Captain a relatively easy one.
We are an inexperienced penntant team compared to the others in the competition and we should all hold our heads up high.
Looking forward to next year. Lynda Jolly [Captain] 26/4/2013
